Changing majors

Before initiating a change of major, concentration or minor, students should contact the office administering the program of study to carefully review the requirements and prerequisites. For more details, see the instructions for change of academic program in the Undergraduate Bulletin.
If you are interested in changing your major, you should carefully review the requirements and prerequisites for the new major and discuss the reasons why you want to declare this major.
For help selecting a major that best suits you personally, you may want to consider completing a Discovery Workshop through the University College advising program.
For majors in the College, you may seek additional assistance form the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs. You can schedule an appointment by going to Hibbs Hall, Room 211, at 900 Park Ave., or calling (804) 827-8211. Completed change of major/concentration/minor forms
are submitted to the dean in HIbbs Hall, Room 211, for final approval.
