Declaring a minor

In addition to the major, you may want to minor in an additional area of concentration. Minors are available in any program or department offering such a program and can be used to fulfill career needs. A minor also allows you to study a discipline of interest outside of your major area of study.
VCU offers about 50 minors, many of which are offered through the College and range from African American studies and biology to writing and urban studies. For more information on a specific minor, contact the department that houses the program or consult the VCU Bulletins. To declare a minor, submit the change of major/concentration/minor form
to the dean in Hibbs Hall,
Room 211, for final approval.
