Enhancing your experience

Are you looking for a unique learning experience? VCU and the College offer a variety of nontraditional environments in which to study.
For example, through our service-learning courses, you can receive professional preparation to meet the needs of persons with disabilities while working in organized health, physical education and rehabilitation programs at local schools and hospitals or other facilities in the community. Or maybe you want to apply your Spanish language skills in a work environment through a local, national or international interpretation and translation internship. You can also develop your research skills — including developing research plans, writing proposals, conducting research, analyzing data and presenting results — by participating in the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs’ Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program. You can even study forensic science in Bristol, England as part of VCU’s study abroad partnership program with the University of West England’s School of Forensic Science.
We encourage you to learn more about how you can earn course credit through the College while gaining real-world experience, helping the community or traveling across the globe.
