Christopher Brooks

Biographical Sketch
Dr. Christopher A. Brooks is Associate Professor of Music and African-American Studies. He received his Ph.D from the University of Texas at Austin where his research interests include the Yoruba music drama from an anthropological, ethno-musicological and historical perspective. He has also done field research in Ghana, Benin and is currently conducting research in Zimbabwe on that country's Women's League. He spent the summer of 1992 collecting more data on the women's rights organization. A recipient of a
Fulbright and other national grants, he was also a lecturer in the African and African-American Studies Center at the University of Texas at Austin. He has published articles on African and African-American issues.
