Mission Statement

The mission of the anthropology faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University is to prepare our students for the future--whether that future includes applied work in anthropology, a professional career, or future graduate work in anthropology. In order to accomplish this mission, we have developed a plan that focuses on various aspects of applied anthropology, international and area studies, overseas programs, and a commitment to cross-disciplinary and area studies corroboration.
