Jennifer Reily Blackwell (BS ’99, Communications/Public Relations), is employed as a senior communication specialist at Performance Food Group in Richmond, Va.

Matthew W. Greene (BS ’95, Public Relations), works for JetBlue Airways as a pilot.

Susan P. Stokes (BS ’98, Computer Science), obtained her M.B.A. and has two children in college, one at Longwood and one at VCU. Her husband is a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Education at VCU.

Aileen I. VelezCabassa (BS ’00, Biology), resides in Maryland and works as a quality control analyst for cell therapy products at a biotech company. She graduated in May 2008 from Johns Hopkins University with an M.S. in Biotechnology with a regulatory affairs concentration.

Robert Lentner, (BS ’02, Criminal Justice), recently returned from deployment to Saudi Arabia as a logistic advisor and is now assigned to Fort Knox, Ky. as assistant regimental plans and operations officer for the 16th Cavalry Regiment.

Richard A. (Rick) Davis (MPA ’93, Public Administration), lives in Powhatan, Va. with his wife, MaryBeth (’86 VCU School of Business) and 14-year-old daughter. He is currently the application development manager for the Department of Corrections and has a staff of 17 information technology specialists. He also serves as the project technical lead for a new offender management project called VirginiaCORIS.

Vicki Maddox Pettus (BS ’75, Mass Communications), enjoys teaching reading and English as a second language while retired and working at her pleasure.

Daniel L. Moody (BS ’81, Administration of Justice and Public Safety), resides in Largo, Fla. He is a construction litigation attorney and is board certified by the Florida Bar as an expert in construction law. He has been recognized as one of “Florida’s Super Lawyers” in 2007 and 2008, as a result of peer review. He was recently appointed as a special magistrate to hear cases before the county’s construction licensing and disciplinary board.

Lynette Purdy Wakefield (BS ’95, Psychology; BS ’97, VCU School of Allied Health Professions), after having her fourth child, rejoined the workforce as technical manager and helped ICANL (Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories) achieve accreditation.

Richard W. Haselwood (BA ’02, Political Science; BS ’02 Mass Communications), has lived and worked in Khartoum, Sudan, since 2005, with the international relief and development agency, Mercy Corps. He directs the large-scale Darfur relief operation, as well as the post-conflict recovery operations in the volatile area along the north and south borders.

Venita Weaver Morell (BS ’80, Biology; MD ’03 VCU School of Medicine), serves as medical director of the county health department, is an American Academy of HIV Medicine-credentialed HIV specialist and was recertified by American Board of Family Practice in 2007. She is looking forward to traveling to three colleges in Florida to visit triplet daughters Sara, Adare and Aaron.

Diana R. Halleman (BS ’70, Journalism) now serves as the chairman of the City Personnel Commission.

Marc B. Johnson (BA ’99, Political Science), has worked with the Office of the Clerk in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2007.

Bree Sison (BS ’06 Mass Communications and Political Science), is spreading Ram Spirit in the panhandle of Florida while enjoying her lifelong ambition of being a reporter.

Leslie Edwards (BS ’06, Forensic Science), is employed as a forensic DNA examiner with the Virginia Department of Forensic Science and got married in October 2008.

Dwityo Akoro Soeranto (MURP ’97, Environmental Planning), lives in Jakarta, Indonesia, and works as the subdirector of data and information at the Ministry of Public Works.

Nathan Smith (BA ’05, History), is enrolled in the library and information science master's program at The Catholic University of America. He is also a member of the Society of American Archivists, the D.C. chapter of the Special Libraries Association, and takes part in several listservs of library/archival topics.

Aftab Datta (MS ’02, Organic Chemistry), worked at the Naval Lab as a synthetic chemist, and then earned an MBA in management consulting. He has been working as a management consultant for more than three years with ambitions to become an independent laboratory consultant.

Melanie C. Morgan (BA ’90, English), is a freelance business writer and plans to earn a degree in graphic arts.

Dale Stuart (BS ’05, Chemistry), is earning a Ph.D. in Chemistry at VCU under Everett Carpenter, Ph.D.

Sara Zavik, (BA ’08, Foreign Language and International Studies), lives in Spain and works at an elementary school as a language and conversation assistant.

Jaroa A. Favilla (BS ’08, Sociology and Spanish; MT ’08, Teaching), is employed as a Spanish teacher for Henrico County Public Schools.

Rosetta Rolan (BS ’89, Mass Communications), is now the director of diversity at KIN Television Corporation.

Charlotte Jensen (BA ’94, English; MT ’94 Teaching), serves as president of Cole James Associates, Inc.

Charles H. Smith Jr. (MPA ’81 Public Administration), completed his first tour with MSC on the USNS RAINIER T-AOE 7 from Oct. 2007 to June 2008.

Cynthia McMullen (MA ’89, English Literature), spent more than 15 years as a copy editor, section editor and then reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. She began a new career on June 30, 2008 as director of public relations and communications for the VCU School of Pharmacy.

Margaret (Kathy) Hite Hollar (BS ’71, Sociology), took early retirement in November 2008 after 33 years at the University of Virginia Heath System and four years at VCU Medical Center.

Kelly Hundley Brooks (BA ’97, English) is currently the director of operations of the Mid-Atlantic Renal Coalition.

Clarence A. Forman Jr., Esq. (BS ’90, Justice and Risk Administration), is an investigator/attorney at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health Office of Investigations.

Jacquelyn White (BS ’98, Criminal Justice; MSW ’02, Social Work), is working at Henrico Area Mental Health as a prevention specialist.

Patricia Rowell (BS ’70, Science), has been employed as a scientific program manager at the Department of Veterans Affairs since November 2007.

Kelly Conner (BA ’99, Spanish), is employed at University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business as a client services manager.

John M. Krolak (BS ’76 Biology; MS ’78 Biology), earned his Ph.D. and is a supervisory health scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.

Ronette Jacobs (BA ’90, English), is the CEO of Tools for Life.

Angela Mack (BS ’04, Communications) has moved back to Virginia to become an elementary teacher after spending three years as a print journalist in Wilmington, N.C., in her last year covering education.

Judy Allam Long (BS ’99, Psychology), is living in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico while taking photos and helping her husband run the Ajua Maya Restaurant, Ajua Weddings and Ajua Destination Management Company.

Alika Rosser (MS ’99, Mass Communications), is now a reporter and photographer for the Jones County News.

Keven LaVerdad Casey (BS ’99, Mass Communications), left the news director position at Think Radio 1220 AM in Charlotte, N.C. to become an anchor/reporter for Clear Channel Houston’s NewsRadio 740 KTRH in Houston, Texas. He covers Houston-area professional sports as well as Big 12 Conference football and basketball for Clear Channel, owned Fox Sports Radio.

Darin A. Duehl (BA ’06, Mass Communications), is employed as an account manager at Benedict Advertising in South Daytona, Fla.

Katherine Lynn Gallagher (BS ’07, Mass Communications), works in operations at the Barber Martin Agency, in Richmond.

Robb Spewak (BS ’93, Broadcasting), is co-host and in-studio producer for the nationally-syndicated radio talk show, “Mike O’Meara Show.”

Wendy Vick-Willis (BA ’95, Political Science and History), was appointed organ donation awareness spokesperson in conjunction with Methodist Hospital and Multi Organ Transplant Center.

Malcolm D. Farmer (BS ’58, Psychology; MS ’60, Rehabilitation Counseling), provides counseling and case management services to disabled veterans on campus at Marshall University.

Mary Heller (BA ’99, English and Writing), recently graduated from George Mason University with an MA in Teaching Literature and Writing.

Garry Spriggs (BS ’03, Psychology), is working in the prosthetics department of Loma Linda Healthcare System (Department of Veterans Affairs) in Loma Linda, Calif.

Stephanie R. Summers, (MS ’06, Art Direction), is living in Chicago, Ill. and working as the Art Director of Energy BBDO.

Emily Thompson (BS ’06, Chemistry), earned an MT in Secondary Education and is now teaching chemistry at LaVergne High School in Tennessee.
