Faculty &
Admin : Policies & Guidelines
The College requires all of its students to take two courses
that have been designated as writing intensive (WI), and at
least one of these courses must be in the student’s
major department. The WI Committee
has been charged with the task of reviewing courses proposed
for WI credit, helping departments and faculty develop courses
appropriate to their disciplines and reporting to the Dean
and the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee on the implementation
of this aspect of the General
Education requirement.
Writing intensive courses may be one, two or three credit
upper level courses and should have ENGL 200 as a prerequisite.
The guidelines for these courses were adopted by the Faculty
Council of the College in 1997.
