Virginia
Commonwealth University is committed to providing students
with disabilities equal opportunities to benefit from all
programs, services and activities offered. Federal and state
laws define disabilities as physical or mental impairments
that substantially limit one or more major life activities,
such as caring for one's self, performing manual tasks,
walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning and
working. Disabilities include, but are not limited to,
multiple sclerosis, migraines, chronic fatigue, traumatic
brain injuries, cancer, diabetes, lupus, epilepsy, deafness,
blindness, attention deficit disorder, specific learning
disabilities and psychological disorders.
The
Office of Disability Support Services determines appropriate
academic adjustments such as program and exam modifications,
classroom accommodations and auxiliary aids.
Students
with disabilities are responsible for self-identification
prior to requesting services and may do so at any time by
presenting documentation to their campus coordinator.

Commonwealth University does not discriminate on the basis

The Director of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative
