Physics is the study of the most fundamental interactions between time, space, energy and matter.

Physics is important: It provides the foundation for engineering and modern biology as well as the other natural sciences. Much of modern technology is the result of physics research, including the transistor, and integrated circuits, which are at the heart of modern computers and electronics.
Physics is exciting and diverse: New discoveries constantly open new vistas for learning about nature. Today, the scope of physics is expanding into new fields including, for example, microbiology, nano- technologies and financial markets.
Physics is thought-provoking: It is a way of looking at nature from the ground up - and has inspired the philosophies of the twentieth century. Where the engineer understands to build, the physicist builds to understand.
Physics is a smart choice: Studying physics will provide you with a flexible foundation to support careers in diverse fields, from basic physics research to engineering, medicine and law. A solid background in physics will prepare you to be a leader in our increasingly technical world.
