Treatment information

The majority of people with an anxiety disorder can be helped with the right treatment.

Treatment must be tailored for each individual, but there are a number of standard approaches. Our therapists use a combination of the following state-of-the-art, research-supported treatments such as:
• cognitive behavioral therapy.
• relaxation training.
• systematic desensitization.
• coping skills training.
• stress management.

Anxiety disorders in children and adolescents
Generally, symptoms are the same no matter what the patient's age. What differs by age, usually, is the way in which symptoms are displayed.

How much does treatment cost?
Our fees are set from a sliding fee scaled according to y our family income. During your first visit, you will be seen by a staff clinician for an intake evaluation. There is a $15 charge for this initial intake sessions. All sessions following this intake are based on the sliding scale. You are expected to pay for services at the time the services are rendered. We accept American Express, Discover, Master Card and Visa.

What should I expect from treatment?
Our treatments are time-limited, problem-focused, and proven by research studies to be effective for reducing anxiety. We will design the treatment to decrease your specific anxiety symptoms. Treatment is very active, and the more you put into it the more you will get out of it. It often involves keeping track of your anxiety symptoms, and homework assignments to reduce anxiety in the places and situations in which you are experiencing it.

How long should treatment take?
Treatment is time-limited and focused on your specific anxiety-reduction goals. Although there is no way to say how long a course of treatment will last, because each individual is unique, a person who participates regularly in treatment should see significant improvement within two months.
