The Institute for African American Mental Health Training and Research (I AM) operates under the auspices of the Center for Psychological Services and Development (CPSD), the Division of University Outreach and the Psychology Department of VCU. I AM is a natural extension of the services provided by the CPSD and expands its training mission to sponsor continuing education and other training workshop services to the professional community. Through I AM, human service providers will be trained by prominent scholars and practitioners, and faculty/practitioner experts in the most current issues, practices and techniques used with African Americans. In addition, I AM is supported by the Department of Psychology in its effort to disseminate knowledge, education and information that attempts to solve human problems in our increasingly diverse society. |
