Research and clinical interests

My research interests entail examining the broad issue of minority health care disparities, with specific emphasis in the area of pain evaluation, treatment and management. I enjoy working clinically with individuals with chronic pain and exploring issues of pain management, medication compliance and identity issues that often develop in dealing with a chronic painful condition. I enjoy working clinically with the general population as well, and helping individuals address issues of sexual and ethnic identity, depression, intimate relationships and other life challenges.
