Thank you for visiting the Humanities and Sciences Staff Council webpage.
The staff council represent the body of all full time and part time classified employees. We are the voice for staff issues and concerns. The college of Humanities and Sciences employs over 150 classified staff. It is our duty to fully represent the staff's opinions and issues within our open forum.
In addition to showing support for various employment causes, we are also active in the community, participating in benefit walks and Holiday charities. On occasion, the staff council holds social events for all staff. All employees are welcome and encouraged to attend each staff council meeting.
If you are a VCU HAS classified employee you are part of the Staff Council!
The Staff Council is lead by an elected President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Historian, and 7 Members.
The staff council meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 9 AM. We alternate meetings between the Franklin Street and the Main Street side of the Monroe Campus. Frequently our meetings are held in Blanton House Conference Room on the Franklin Street side, and the Math Sciences Conference Room on the Main Street side. Please see the "Next Meeting" link to the right for a complete schedule. We hope to see you there!
To find out where our next meeting will be contact Angelica Bega-Hart.
To meet other staff. To support each other. To air your concerns and issues. To learn about new initiatives in the university. To build community.
Please note: The Dean fully supports the staff council, and encourages supervisors to release their staff for these meetings.
