Lora Toothman ('06) is Assistant Project Manager for Construction at GRTC Transit System (Richmond
Region).
Congratulations to Amy George ('08) on making the Style Weekly Top 40 Under
40 list for 2011! Amy works for the City of Richmond, and is on the board for Ride Richmond. Turning her enthusiasm for biking
into positive change for the Richmond region—an excellent example!
Kelly Kinahan (Spring '08) will be pursuing a Ph.D. in Urban Studies and Public Affairs at
Cleveland State University beginning Fall '11. She is leaving her position as Revitalization
Planner for Henrico County. Kelly has also served as an adjunct faculty member for the Wilder
School.
Ethan (Thanos) Votsis ('06) is working on a joint research position with the Finnish
Meteorological Institute and Helsinki University that will end up in a PhD dissertation on climate
change effects on architectural/urbanization patterns.
Abby McCabe, AICP (Spring '07), recently announced her new position as Project Coordinator in
the City Manager's Office of Worcestor, Massachusetts. She is leaving the position as Staff Planner
for the town of Reading, Massachusetts, where she has worked since graduating.
David Stinson ('08) works as Market Research and Real Estate Analyst for Fairfax County
Economic Development Authority.
Lane Pearson, Esq, now works for the Center for Neighborhood Revitalization, a new arm of the
Better Housing Coalition (BHC) which was formed when the Alliance to Conserve Old Richmond
Neighborhoods (A.C.O.R.N.) merged with BHC. Mr. Pearson serves as revitalization strategy manager.
Ronnie Clements (Spring '07) is working on a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration with
an emphasis on urban policy from VCU's Center for Public Policy. He is working with Dr. Suen for
the planning department, and has served as an adjunct faculty member. Mr. Clements will be
participating in an exchange program Dr. Accordino established with the Bauhaus in Weimar, Germany,
along with a current MURP student, Kristin Smith, for five months in 2012. Previous work inlcudes
Planner I in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Catherine Easterling (Spring '08) and Jeffrey Eastman (Spring '08) work as
Planner II/Planning & Preservation for the City of Richmond's Department of Planning and
Development Review.
Tom Phan (Spring '08) is employed as Planner II/Land Use Administrators for the City of
Richmond's Department of Planning and Development Review.
Matthew Ebinger (Spring '07) works as Planner I in the Planning Division of New Kent County,
Virginia's Department of Community Development.
Nicholas Rogers (Spring "07) is Staff Coordinator for Fairfax County Government. His
previous position was Neighborhood Planner for Charlottesville, Virginia.
Christopher Perez (Fall '07) currently works as Senior Planner for Albemarle County,
Virginia's Department of Community Development. Formerly, Mr. Perez worked for Gloucester
County, Virginia.
