MURP Faculty
The Master of Urban and Regional Planning program at VCU provides an exceptional opportunity to
learn from both full-time faculty of the University as well as from a roster of talented
professionals who are committed to the future of good planning and therefore dedicate of their time
to serve as adjunct faculty members.
Students gain immeasurably from the experience of adjunct faculty through true-to-life projects
that reflect the issues professionals in a range of fields, such as historic preservation, adaptive
reuse of buildings, land use law, and suburban development, currently face in their work.
Together with the skills and talents of the full-time faculty of the L. Douglas Wilder School of
Government and Public Affairs, which continually seeks to integrate learning across the disciplines
of urban planning, sociology, criminal justice, public administration, and homeland security,
graduates of the program benefit from the many perspectives and experiences that the varied
faculty members bring to the arena of urban planning education.
