Welcome to the Biblical Hebrew Language Program at VCU!  

The Biblical Hebrew language program is incorporated with the Religious Studies program in order to combine linguistic knowledge with literary review.  The study of Hebrew is the only true approach to the literature of the Torah.  The Old Testament itself is the center of Western Spirituality and is essential to understand any Western Religion.  An enlightened knowledge of central texts will greatly illuminate the Western cultural traditions.
