Why study IsiZulu?
- Zulu is the language of over 10 million South Africans.
- Zulu is one of South Africa's eleven official languages.
- Zulu has a rich tradition of poetry and music.
- Zulu is written with the Roman alphabet, so it is easy to begin speaking right away.
- Zulu is also spoken in Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique.
- VCU's new partnership with University of KwaZulu-Natal, "The Premier University of African Scholarship", will allow VCU students to further study and explore Zulu in Durban, South Africa.
