Why Study IsiZulu? Zulu is the language of over 10 million South Africans. Zulu is one of South Africa's eleven official languages. Zulu has a rich tradition of poetry and music. Zulu is written with the Roman alphabet, so it is easy to begin speaking right away. Zulu is also spoken in Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique. VCU's new partnership with University of KwaZulu-Natal, "The Premier University of African Scholarship", will allow VCU students to further study and explore Zulu in Durban, South Africa.
