Rewriting
........................................................................................................................................................................
In some classes, especially Writing Intensive classes (WI), you will be asked to rewrite one or more papers. When doing so, you must consider all aspects of the paper: its composition (the structure into paragraphs and the sequence of arguments), the need for fewer or more headlines, the wording of sentences, the need for other or additional references, the layout of the list of references, and so forth.

You should not only consider specific points that your professor or classmate have pointed out as in need of revision. Similar instances throughout the paper should also be revised, whether they are marked or not. In the process, you may well note other changes that might improve your work. Revision and rewriting is the key to an excellent paper. Cosmetic changes rather than substantive revision will not improve your grade.
