Spring 2008 World Studies Research Roundtable

The School of World Studies Research Task Force is pleased to announce the World Studies
Research Roundtable, Spring 2008. All Roundtable presentations are held in Cabell B-35.




Faculty and students of the School of World Studies are cordially invited to attend the upcoming SWS Research Roundtable presentations. In an informal setting, SWS scholars will present research in progress. Talks will take place on Fridays in Cabell B-35 at 3pm and will be followed by light refreshments and snacks.

February 29: Weiping Wu (Associate Professor of Urban Studies, Geography, and Planning)
Migration and China's Urban Transformation

April 11: Mar Góngora (Associate Professor of Spanish)
The Sephardic Identity and the Contemporary Spanish Self in Antonio Muñoz Molina's Sefarad

April 25: Lynn Nelson (Professor of International Studies)
Political Transformation under Putin: Democratizing and Authoritarian Trends

The School of World Studies is currently the sole sponsor of the series but will strive to work collaboratively with other academic units to showcase faculty research in progress, including rough drafts of conference papers and book chapters, across disciplines. The research task force welcomes submissions from colleagues in World Studies and beyond.
