Adjunct faculty - Anthropology

The Anthropology Program in the School of World Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University is every semester seeking candidates interested in teaching one or more classes as adjunct faculty. We are looking for applicants with at least a MA/MS in a relevant field.

We every semester employ a number of adjunct faculty. The contribution they make to the vitality and progress of our program is important for our students and for the program. The regular full-time faculty is invested in making adjuncts feel appreciated and supported. The School of World Studies also runs workshops that inform new adjunct faculty of rules and procedures as well as answers to their individual concerns.

The Anthropology Program is in particular interested in candidates who can teach regular classes from introductory level anthropology and archaeology, ANTH 103 and ANTH 105, to upper level courses (please consult the Anthropology course descriptions: http://www.pubapps.vcu.edu/vcucourses/). However, we also regularly offer adjunct faculty possibilities to teach courses in their particular specialty by offering upper level topics classes can contact the coordinator of the Anthropology Program, Associate Professor Anders Linde-Laursen (alindela@vcu.edu), or the Associate Director of the School of World Studies, Professor Robert Godwin-Jones (rgjones@vcu.edu), for further information. Or mail a letter of interest, including a short CV and the names of 2 references, to:
