The School of World Studies offers several different types of internships, each with specific course requirements.  Please select the type of internship that best fits your interests.

General Internships
This internship allows students to work with a business, governmental agency, or non-profit organization, locally or abroad, to apply knowledge gained from courses in their major or minor.  These internships are open to World Studies majors or minors having completed at least 6 credits at the 300-level in major/minor courses.  Students may choose from 1-6 credits for the internship, depending on the hours they anticipate working.  Each credit requires 40 logged hours of work at the internship site.  Click on General Internships for the course syllabus.

Specialty Internships
The following internships have specific eligibility or credit restrictions, additional course requirements, or course prerequisites.  For more information about any of the specialty internships, please make an appointment with the Internship Coordinator at 827-1111.

New Communities Internship
This internship is open to World Studies Foreign Language majors and CHS Library Studies Early Elementary Education majors.  After a series of lectures on ESL education, the internship places students in Teaching Assistant positions in ESL classrooms in Richmond area public schools.  The course is open registration (INTL 493-004 / FRLG 493-004) and is set at 3 credits.  The Syllabus will be distributed the first day of class.

French Film Festival Internship
These interns assist with the preparation and execution of the annual French Film Festival.  For more information concerning the internship or to apply for one of the intern positions, please contact the French Film Director, Dr. Peter Kirkpatrick.
