Availability:  Offered fall, spring and summer.  Successful interns will have the option to resubmit an internship request for the following semester if desired.

            The CASA program is a non-profit organization committed to advocating for the best interests of children involved in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court process. The CASA program recruits, trains, and supervises competent volunteers dedicated to representing the needs of abused and neglected children, as well as other children in juvenile dependency proceedings. The program promotes safe, permanent homes for all children and seeks to educate the community concerning the needs of abused and neglected children.
                                   
Intern Responsibilities:
Interns will be asked to assist CASA staff with short and long term projects during the internship.  Projects will require the intern to use a phone, computer, and database software throughout the semester.  Some projects will be administrative others will involve interaction with clients, court officials, staff, volunteers and/or donors.

Language/Skill Requirements:

    • Interest in advocacy, non-profit, criminal justice or law would be a plus.

Hours & Pay:            

    • Intern should be available a minimum of 10 hours a week M-F during the semester (8-12 weeks).  Schedule can be flexible to accommodate intern’s class schedule.  Case-by-case basis.
