Saba was born in Gaza, Palestine and has been living in Richmond since 1970. She teaches 1st and 2nd year Arabic language and culture at VCU. Saba was one of the original members of the Islamic Center of Virginia and is still very active as a board member and a former president of the Interfaith Council of Greater Richmond. Saba is a 2004 graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond (LMR). She was an activist for civil liberties through the Arab American Anti Discrimination Committee.

Saba's family owns and operates the Mediterranean Bakery and Deli in Richmond, where you can find Middle Eastern foods and other specialty deli and grocery items.
