Karim Halty was born in Casablanca, Morocco and has lived and worked in Europe for many years until moving to the USA two years ago, and to Virginia this past summer.

Karim has studied in both Morocco and Belgium
and has a Bachelors degree in Law and a Masters in Public Administration. He wrote two thesis, one in Arabic over The Power of Judges in Criminal Courts, Comparing Morocco and France,and his master degree thesis in French  over The Migration Fluctuation in Belgium:The Politics of Integration and Assistance with Voluntary Return  He is multi-lingual speaking English, French, Arabic and Dutch.

Karim’s multi-lingual and multi-cultural background means he has developed a great understanding of people and communities from all around the world. Besides teaching the language itself, he is also able to incorporate cultural background and context in his teaching.

Karim discovered a love of teaching in the past few years and is now enjoying teaching his mother tongues and sharing his culture and traditions to a wide variety of people.
Karim taught both Arabic and French to adult private students and government employees. Some students he taught were sponsored by special government programs and were Federal Bureau of Prisons Language Specialists and State Department employees and candidates.

Karim is a member and instructor of the Alliance Française. He also coached and trained teams of the 91st battalion civil affairs office in Fort Bragg, NC, in preparation of conducting Civil Military operations in countries of the Trans-Sahara Region of Africa. validated the pre-mission training of deploying Army operations’ Civil Affairs Teams and used French and Arabic in cultural awareness training, including familiarization, proper use of interpreting in the target language, and language capability enhancement for upcoming deployments to Morocco, Iraq and Trans-Sahara Region of Africa and surrounding countries. As a Cultural Advisor key leader,he conducted exercise scenarios, including engagements/meetings, questioning villagers, medical/hospital scenarios, local National UN Representative scenarios, police/jail scenarios, difficult crowd situations, building inspections/picture taking, and bystanders for military attacks scenarios.
