Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Micol Hammack first discovered her passion for languages during an undergraduate study abroad program in Russia. She went on to earn a BA in Mathematics from the University of Oregon, a Master's Degree in Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a post-graduate certificate in TESL from Winfield College in Vancouver, BC. She has taught Russian since 1995 and ESL since 1998, and has been at VCU since 2000.
