Salwa was born in Tripoli, Lybia and grew up in Cairo, Egypt. She has taught at Randolph Macon College, University of Richmond, and the College of William and Mary. She has completed the required coursework for her PhD at University of Virginia in French Literature and is currently writing her dissertation. Salwa loves sports and cooking.
