Kristin Swenson majored in biology and religion at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. She earned a Masters of Theological Studies at Boston University with a specialization in Biblical Studies. She did her Ph.D. work in Boston University 's "History and Literature of Ancient Israel" program, for which she wrote a dissertation titled "The Relationship of Judah and Joseph in Genesis 49." It has implications for how we understand the role and relationship of two general models of power within the Bible. Dr. Swenson is interested in how biblical interpretation shapes contemporary thinking about matters such as health, social relationships, and the environment.
