Kristin Swenson majored in biology and religion at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. After earning a Masters of Theological Studies in Boston University's School of Theology, she did her Ph.D. work in Boston University's "History and Literature of Ancient Israel" program. The author of Living through Pain: Psalms and the Search for Wholeness and co-author with Esther Nelson of What is Religious Studies?: A Journey of Inquiry, Dr. Swenson's Bible Babel: Making Sense of the Most Talked about Book of All Time (HarperCollins, Feb. 2010) helps general readers gain a level of biblical literacy, no matter what their faith beliefs may be.
