World Studies Media Center - Lab Intern Position

The World Studies Media Center offers internship positions to SWS students. These positions are competitive and limited to 1 per semesters. Only students of the School of world Studies are eligible to work in the World Studies Media Center for academic credit.
The WSMC student internship offers 3 credits per semester
WSMC Student intern will be expected to work between 8-10 hours/week (120 hours total). Duties include duties include:
Staffing the Service desk
- Answer phones, assisting faculty and students as needed
- Checking out videos and other resources to faculty through new bar-code inventory system
- Reserve the lab for faculty and staff through new on-line reservation system
Providing media support services
- Shooting video (filming classes, SWS events)
- Capturing/Editing video (Adobe Premiere)
- Encoding video (Real Producer)
- updating the website (Dreamweaver, WS_FTP)
Providing instructional support to students and faculty
- Provide general instructional and technical support for all lab applications
- Assisting instructors to prepare and deliver language labs (Sanako Lab 300)
- Assisting instructors to prepare curricula and support for self-study applications
- Assisting Director with faculty workshops
Other
- Assist with special projects
- Grace Street Festival - Event planning, hosting (required)
- UC Open-house - lab tours to prospective students (required)
- Assist in inventory control, statistics, and preventative maintenance
- Other media public work areas, and perform other duties as required.
