On-Site Language Lab Support: A trained lab assistant is always available on-site to assist SWS instructors with language labs, classroom presentations, etc. All use of the classroom lab in Hibbs 424 must be reserved in advance. Click here to view schedule.

Instructional Support: The WSMC provides an array of instructional support services. If you need help determining how to use our technologies and resources in your classes, the WSMC offers workshops and one-on-one training on request. Please contact Greg Hellman or Ania Marcinkowska to discuss your specific instructional needs for language labs, multimedia presentations and workshops.

Technical Support: SWS Instructors may request technical support for all WSMC applications and equipment.

Interactive Multimedia Language Training: The WSMC offers today's cutting edge language learning programs such as Rosetta Stone, Tell Me More, EuroTalk, FLUENZ and a host of other applications.

Reserving Materials: Instructors may place learning materials on reserve for their students in the WSMC (Hibbs 425). Contact Anna Marcinkowska for details.

Digitizing Media: The WSMC offfers basic media production services for SWS teachers and students. We convert audio and video cassestte tapes and other forms of outdated media for computer playback and web streaming. Copyrighted material can only be duplicated when the original media is in an obsolete format, such as VHS, and is not available in a newer format such as DVD.

Video Editing: The WSMC can assist teachers with simple video editing projects if they are related to teaching and learning in the School of World Studies. For more information, please contact Greg Hellman.

Foreign Language Placement Testing: Computerized Webcape placement tests for French, German, Spanish and Russian are administered through the WSMC. A written test is available for Portuguese and Latin. Students wishing to take a placement test should go to Hibbs 425. Click here for placement testing guidelines.

Web Publishing: The WSMC maintains the School of World Studies website and provides faculty and staff with full support in posting relevant content to this site. The WSMC provides limited assistance with building personal and project websites.
