World Studies Media Center FAQ

What are 5th-hour Labs?

5th-hour labs are designed to help aid the initial stages of learning a language. The 5th-hour labs are a series of exercises coordinated with your text book and teacher's syllabus and are meant to reinforce the lessons taught in that particular week. The labs are organized by class level and week. Your teacher may assign you one lab per week which can be completed here in the WSMC.

Labs may include activities involving word recognition, listening comprehension, grammar excercises, translations or even simple fill-in-the-blank excercises. A majority of your labs can be completed on any computer with internet access, but any lab requiring completion of GrammarTutor must be done here in the WSMC lab. Your teachers may require you to either print out the results of labs or save the file and email your results to them.

All of the 5th-Hour labs are found here on the WSMC website. The username and password can be obtained by either coming into the lab or calling.
