World Studies Media Center FAQ

How do I type in Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Japanese?

To type in Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Japanese you must be on a computer with the language packs installed.

To type in any non-Western font:

1) Find the language bar down on the bottom right hand portion of the toolbar. The language bar will be directly to the left of the clock.

2) Click on the "EN" ("EN" is the default language on all of the lab computers) to bring up a list of available fonts.

3) Once you are ready to type, click the font that you desire.

4) To resume typing in English, click on the language bar again and select "EN" as the language.
