To record your voice on a non lab computer, the computer must first have a voice recording program installed and a working microphone connected. The voice recording option can normally be found under the “Accessories” tab of “Programs” on your start menu.

To use the voice recorder on a Windows computer:

1) Click the "Start" button on your toolbar.

2) Find and select the "Programs" tab.

3) Find and select the "Accessories" tab.

4) Find and select the "Entertainment" tab.

5) Find and select the "Sound Recorder" option.

6) Once the recorder has come up on your screen:

  • Click the Red button to record
  • Click the Black Square button to stop the recording.
  • Click on the Two Black Triangles to rewind the recording.
  • Click the Single Black Triangle to play the recording.

To save the recording:

1) Click "File" and select the "Save As..." option.

2) Type in a name in the "File Name:" box.

3) Select a destination for the file to be saved in at the top of the save screen, i.e. "My Documents" or "Desktop".

4) Click the "Save" button.
