Message from the Director
It is an honor to serve as director of this dynamic community of students, staff and faculty known as the VCU School of World Studies, and to welcome you to our website.
The School of World Studies was founded in the College of Humanities and Sciences in 2003, uniting programs in anthropology, international studies, languages and religious studies with the interdisciplinary structure to address some of the most crucial topics of the new century, such as the impact of globalization on communities, and how language, culture, and religion shape the ways that individuals find a place in their rapidly changing world.
We help our students acquire the knowledge base, communication skills and practical experience they need to function successfully across a variety of borders, and we are living proof of the commitment to international education at VCU.
Please take a moment to learn more about the people and programs that make World Studies the place to be!
