First up was an optional tour (3 days) in Munich, the capital of Bavaria, and one of the cities in Germany with the most to see and eat & drink. We stayed at a small, very basic hotel near the main train station, which was within walking distance of the downtown sights. We walked through the pedestrian zone from the hotel to Marienplatz, where the Rathaus is located. The Residenz and English Garden are not far from the Marienplatz.
One of the days we were in Munich we took a trip outside the city to visit the castle of Nymphenburg Castle the Dachau concentration camp. Visiting the two sites one after another provided quite a contrast.
